In June of 1981 a group of like-minded individuals realised there was a need in The UK’s Lake District National Park for a club to cater for the growing interest in historic vehicles. Hence the Lakeland Historic Car Club was formed to encourage the preservation and use of historic vehicles older than 25 years in Cumbria & North Lancashire.
Classic Car Events Cumbria & Lancashire
The club has now expanded to include car runs into Yorkshire and North Lancashire. Throughout the year the club hosts approximately 60 events during all the seasons. This includes, picnic and lunch drives, museum visits and car shows, and winter Sunday lunches along with two Christmas events. Members receive 6 x bi-monthly newsletters including specific details of events for the next two months.
Join Our Club
The LHCC allows members to join without having current ownership of a classic car so they may enjoy the activities of the club. The club has a membership of over 280 members from the age of 18 up to 91, if you would like to become a member of LHCC then please click here to download our membership form.
Membership only costs £20 January-December. In 2020 we introduced a 50% discount for 18-30 year old’s that only costs £10/year instead of the usual £20, this is to encourage younger members to enjoy Historic Vehicles.
The address for returning an application is on the form which is found on our membership page. Payment by cheque is preferred(if you do not own a cheque book you can request a cheque from your bank), we also accept direct BACS transfers.
The club is a Limited Company and Club Officers who are members of the Council of Management can be Directors of LHCC Ltd. The club is also a Member of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC).
